Just like ‘One Breath’ this painting originates in my fascination for free diving. I'm a huge fan of Bill Viola's work. The artist creates his stunning Video Art based on the experience as a six year old, where he almost drowned. He described the experience as such: “I was witnessing this extraordinarily beautiful world with light filtering down”  “It was like paradise. I didn’t even know that I was drowning… For a moment there was absolute bliss.” Free Divers describe often to experience a similar feeling during their plunge into the dark.
