About the work

How do cops feel when they return home after intervening in a riot? How do they deal with the violence? What are their convictions to combat protesting civilians and fellow citizens? What if the protest is something they can relate to? As a part of the ‘Mars series’, I chose this subject with this one question. ‘What motivates someone to sign up for a job like that?’

As always I isolate the subject and place it in an abstract universe where their action becomes irrelevant and raises questions.

About my technique. I use acryl pouring, resin and pure pigments in different transparent layers which give my paintings a real dept like experience. The glossy result mirrors the viewer and invites you to look at yourself in the artwork.
